About Greg 

Gregory J. Frenkiel is an attorney with Copenbarger & Copenbarger, LLP in the estate administration and probate department at the firm. He focuses his practice on advising clients and fiduciaries on navigating the complexities of administering and settling trusts and estates.  

Although Greg’s focus is on administering estates, he also has experience in trust and estate disputes, including breach of fiduciary duty claims, elder abuse actions, petitions to remove fiduciaries, trust modifications, and accounting disputes. About Mark 

Mark Krause is an attorney with Copenbarger & Copenbarger, LLP. He  currently focuses his practice on estate planning.  Previously, Mark’s practice has also included trust administration, probate, conservatorships, guardianships, and trust and probate litigation.  Mark has represented clients in both contested and uncontested matters throughout Southern and Northern California. 

Mark’s estate planning practice focuses on the Southern California offices in Santa Ana, Laguna Beach, Pasadena, Temecula, Riverside, and San Diego.  Mark works hard to connect with clients and to understand their values and goals so that he can create an estate plan that is specifically tailored to meet their needs.  to create customized estate plans that fit their individual needs. Mark also continues to assist in the administration and litigation departments as needed. 

In keeping with the example set by Lloyd Copenbarger, Mark views educating clients and helping them protect their legacies as a ministry.  Mark seeks to use the gifts that God has given him with to be a blessing for his clients in the furtherance of the kingdom.

Katherine Grout is an attorney with Copenbarger & Copenbarger, LLP and leads the Business, Tax, and Advanced Planning department. She serves clients throughout California from the San Jose office. She focuses her practice on business law, corporate transactions, commercial contracts, employment compliance, and intellectual property law, as well as assisting on trust and estate matters, helping individuals and business clients navigate complex legal requirements with clear, practical guidance.   

Katherine regularly assists clients with business formation and compliance, buy-sell agreements, contract drafting and review, employment law essentials, intellectual property portfolios, planning, and protection, and legal risk mitigation strategies. Coming from working in-house at companies in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area, she takes a business-minded and client-centered approach to her work, prioritizing communication, responsiveness, and tailored solutions that align with her clients’ goals and needs.   

Katherine graduated from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2018, where she also focused on intellectual property, data privacy compliance, and business law, earning the law school’s High Tech Law Certificate, Corporate Specialization, with Honors, spending a semester studying international business law in Shanghai and serving as the Editor-In-Chief of the High Tech Law Journal, Vol. 34, a top 5 nationally recognized legal journal for technology. Elaine has spent much of her career handling complex, high-stakes litigation, often focusing on a small number of significant cases at a time. Her practice has included major probate litigation, business and real estate disputes, and extensive trial work. She also has deep, long-standing experience representing mobilehome park owners, advising clients on all legal aspects of the manufactured housing and mobilehome park industry. 

Elaine is known for her strategic judgment, trial advocacy skills, and practical approach to resolving complex disputes. Stan Hutchinson is an of council attorney in the estate planning department at Copenbarger & Copenbarger LLP. Toni DeGasperin is an of council attorney in the estate planning department at Copenbarger & Copenbarger LLP. Since the early 1980s, Toni has been actively practicing law, specializing in estate planning. She has a deep love for travel and exploration. Toni served 5 years as an attorney for the Air Force and achieved the titles of Staff Judge Advocate and Chief of Military Justice. In October 2022, Toni joined our practice, marking a significant milestone in her career as she began her path to retirement. While transitioning into this new phase, Toni will continue to share her wealth of knowledge and expertise as “Of Counsel” to our firm.
